The Mercenary

[Draylon Redtip]

A cloaked figure moved like a breeze through the forest. The sound of crunching wood was heard. The figure exited the woods, never once stopping. Footsteps could be heard pounding throughout the brisk night on the cobblestones. The figure traveled up the path to the castle, where it deposited a small scroll. It left with haste, after whistling loudly. The figure watched from the shadows, as guards came to look at the scroll. The figure left smiling. The scroll read:

Hello. This note was deposited by none other than a mercenary, a bounty hunter, a swordsman, a thief, an assassin, and a rouge. This man would like to offer his many and varied services to the guardian Tenron. Leave a reply at the willow next to the lake in the forest. I will be waiting.

Draylon was waiting for Leroy. For once, he wanted to meet the policing guardian. He didn't see him. Therefore, he knew how to get to him quite easily. He quickly punched a man walking by, and took his wallet quite visibly. He strolled off towards the market, holding the wallet.

[Orion Flame-eye]

OOC- Tenaron and Leroy arent on the same sides...

[Draylon Redtip]

OOC: That's why I'm going to both of them, to get the better offer.

[Orion Flame-eye]

OOC- I see...

[Leroy Ridran]

Leroy was strolling through the market, looking for bad people, when he saw Draylon. He grinned slightly. Then he smacked his face. Oh Draylon.... He thought. He walked up to him, and casually put his sword tip to Draylon's neck. "What do you have to say for yourself, urchin?"

[Draylon Redtip]

Draylon tossed the wallet back to the victim of his punch. "Lower thy sword. I was looking for you. You've heard me tell people that I'm a mercenary. And I am. The only problem is that there hasn't been a war with two human sides in a long time. Therefore, I've been forced to steal. This new war means good news for both of us. Possibly. I am willing to sell my blade. However, if you do not trust me, that's fine." Draylon refrained from mentioning the fact that he had made the same offer to Tenron. "Now, how much are you willing to pay to enlist me? And by the way, I am a swordsman. It's just that my current trade lacks use of such arts. And please lower your sword."

[Leroy Ridran]

Leroy lowered his sword. "The question here is not how much I pay, it is how much you want. For I am quite desperate!"

[Orion Flame-eye]

OOC- Aren't Your gaurdians supposed to be following you around Leroy? AKA Me... I'm like the only one left.

[Leroy Ridran]

OOC: Yeah, I do usually have an entourage. Unfortunately, that was usually headed by TENARON! Go figure...

[Orion Flame-eye]

Orion had been wearing his cooler set of gaurdian armor and was walking furthur behind Leroy. When he had stopped to talk, Orion sat and waited in a tree, watching for anyone who came at them.

[Draylon Redtip]

"How many troops do you have, what kind of amenities do you have, and how much cash do you have?" Draylon said. "I'm not going to charge a price without knowing how much I'm really worth.

[Orion Flame-eye]

" Well Leroy, we could use him." Orion tossed a bag of gold from hand to hand.

[Leroy Ridran]

Leroy took the bag, and turned to Draylon. "Draylon, I have no troops but Orion. I will give you this bag now, and 1 more each month that you work for me."

[Orion Flame-eye]

" Hmphh. You owe me a bag of a hundred gold coins Leroy." Orion sighed as he lay down in the tree, shaded by the broad leaves.

[Leroy Ridran]

"All in good time Orion..."

[Orion Flame-eye]

" Huh, thats what you said the last time." Orion said as he dropped off the tree and went off to the market square to do some fire tricks to earn more gold. From far away, you could see the huge pillar of lightning, like a great beacon fire, coming from Orion's body. The people, fasinated by him started giving gold coins.

[Leroy Ridran]

"Well Draylon? What is your decision?"

[Draylon Redtip]

"100 gold coins... ONE HUNDRED GOLD COINS!" Draylon was giddy. He then realized he had another offer going with Tenron. Draylon cleared his throat. "Good, very good... I'll think about it." Draylon strolled off. "You know where to find me. Stand in the middle of the marketplace and yell for me. I swear' I'll drop what I'm stealing, er, doing, and come to you."

[Leroy Ridran]

Leroy chuckled. "Alright then."

[Orion Flame-eye]

Orion came back, gold bag in each hand, he handed one to Draylon. " Keep out of stealing for a while, if you don't mind."

[Leroy Ridran]

"Are you bribing him not to steal?"

[Orion Flame-eye]

" I guess, just for now." Inside the bag was just metal scraps, with only one real gold coin in the center.

OOC: I think we should wait for Draylon now...
